We are honored that Esther George, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, will once again give her first economic address of the year at Central Exchange.
George has served as president and CEO since October 2011. She joined the Bank in 1982 and served as a commissioned bank examiner until 1995, when she was named to the Bank's official staff. She has held numerous leadership positions within its research support, public affairs, and human resources functions. George served as first vice president of the Bank from August 2009 until her appointment as president.
2013 marks George’s first year as a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee, the committee that determines the direction of monetary policy including key interest rates, and whether to increase or decrease money supply.
