Women at the Leading Edge
A dynamic leadership development and self–awareness series for women facilitated by Dr. Linda Moore, psychologist, author, speaker and national authority on women's leadership.
Target audience: Successful women at any point in their careers, ready to move to deeper levels of personal and professional mastery and expand their understanding and use of power as leaders.
The series is limited to 20 participants.
Series Overview:
Re-examine leadership skills and learn how to achieve life-changing goals in this seven-part program, now in its 19th year. Facilitator Dr. Linda Moore focuses on the psychological underpinnings of leadership. Participants explore and develop leadership abilities, and determine how and where they can apply their skills to make a difference for themselves and others in their professional and personal lives.

Session 1: Friday, February 24 – Noon to 6:00 p.m.
Establishing Relationships, Building Teams, Setting Goals
Presenter: Dr. Linda Moore
This inaugural session creates the basis for support and camaraderie for the series. Participants share their stories and identify pivotal personal and professional experiences, target goals for the series, and form work teams.
Session 2: Friday, March 2
Personal and Positional Power
Presenter: Dr. Linda Moore
What is power? What were you taught about it? How do you use it? And how does being a woman impact your power base? Participants further explore personal and positional power through lecture, discussion, small group exercises and inventories on power, conflict management and leadership style.
Session 3: Friday, March 23 - Noon to 6:00 p.m.
Leveraging your Greatest Asset

Leadership as a Lifestyle
Presenter: Kay Barnes, Founder and Director, Center for Leadership, Park University
Leading from "where you are" is a long–standing philosophical principle of the Leading Edge series. Former Mayor Kay Barnes speaks to this from her own experience as business owner, national speaker, author, city council member, mayor, and candidate for U.S. House of Representatives.
Session 5: Friday, April 13 – Noon to 6:00 p.m.
Leading with Your Strengths
Presenter: Lisa Parks, Consultant/Speaker
Using the book, Strengths Based Leadership by Tom Rath and Barry Conchie as a basis for discussion, participants will discover their leadership strengths, explore how to build a well–rounded leadership team, examine what followers need from their leaders, and begin to develop a personal leadership belief statement.
Session 6: Friday, April 20 - Noon to 6:00 p.m.
Reinventing Yourself: Managing Change and Transition

Putting It All Together . . . Unanswered Questions and New Directions
Presenter: Dr. Linda Moore
Participants review and reflect on their experiences throughout the series; provide and receive group and individual feedback; raise unanswered questions; and focus on future needs and goals.
