Wed., Jan. 25 - Strategic Decisions: The ones that really matter in business
Although many leaders consider themselves skilled decision-makers, it’s easy to avoid the decisions that are most important.
Sally Smith, CEO and founder of Smith & Associates, engages participants to consider a question often ignored, “What are you trying to do in your business?” Only by fully understanding the answer to this query do other decisions become possible.
Smith, along with
Dr. Craig Sasse, associate professor of management at Rockhurst University’s Helzberg School of Management, provide tools for participants to think strategically about opportunities that could lead to growth, create efficiencies, or help identify lucrative partnerships with your business partners.

Wed., Feb 29 - Implementing Change: Maintaining alignment while moving forward
Change management has been likened to herding cats. Impossible - no. Improbable - perhaps. Seventy-five percent of change initiatives fail to meet their objectives because leaders do not fully take into account the ideas and motivations of stakeholders.
At this session,
Dan Jensen, Director of the Helzberg Center for Professional Development at Rockhurst University, introduces participants to a foundational change process, tools of organizational analysis, methods for overcoming resistance, and techniques for ensuring buy-in and support from people at all levels of the organization.

Wed., Mar 21 - Ethical Leadership: Do you know your worldview?
Business ethics is sometimes referred to as an oxymoron, yet decision-makers more than ever are called on to act in the best interests of their business AND do it ethically. The business leader’s worldview, whether known or not, is the very foundation and heart of decisions that impact the company’s products and services and quality of life.
Rockhurst University professors
Turner White, assistant professor of management, and
Dr. Brendan Sweetman, professor of philosophy, introduce the concept of worldviews to prepare participants to handle the tough decisions they will face over the course of their professional careers.
