Featuring Clay Chastain, community activist

Where is light rail in Kansas City? Voters approved a measure to implement a north-south system last November. The measure, proposed by community activist Clay Chastain, would reach from Swope Park to Kansas City International Airport and be financed by the 3/8-cent sales tax that now funds Kansas City’s bus system. Recently the city attorney acknowledged there may be legal problems with the light-rail initiative. In response, Chastain and his wife Valerie urged the new mayor and city council to take prompt action on the voter-approved plan. Hear the latest from Chastain on the status of Kansas City’s light rail.
