Sue Mosby, Board Chair

Sue MosbySue Mosby is president and CEO, Infinium, an organizational consulting firm working in the area of creativity and innovation. Infinium helps organizations expand their ability to think creatively and then transforms this thinking into business results through innovation. Prior to this, Mosby earned her bachelor's degree in interior design from the University of Missouri - Columbia and then enjoyed a 25-year career in architecture culminating as an owner of a 50-person architectural firm.

Mosby is active with the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce board, UMKC Advisory Council, and Children’s Mercy Hospital Cardiac Parent-to-Parent program.

Yijing Brentano, Vice Chair, Finance

Yijing BrentanoYijing Brentano is director, Sprint Nextel Corporation, serving as CFO for the customer equipment business unit, which manages the end-to-end development, procurement, inventory management, and distribution of wireless devices (over $4B in annual spending).

Brentano joined Sprint in 1997, serving in a variety of positions. She spent several years with Ernst & Young LLP’s cash management consulting practice before joining Sprint.

Brentano is a certified treasury professional. She was a winner of 2000 Women of Color Technology Award, a national award that recognizes successful minority women in technology. Brentano serves on the board of Kansas City Asian Chamber of Commerce and is the vice president for the Kansas City Chinese Network Association.

Doranne Hudson, Vice Chair, Strategic Initiatives

Doranne HudsonDoranne Hudson is an executive in residence and visiting instructor at the Bloch School of Business at UMKC. She teaches undergraduate, MBA, and executive MBA courses in leadership and works with other Bloch faculty to develop executive education and leadership curricula. Her current research interests include emotional intelligence in leader effectiveness, organizational influence and political savvy, and leadership of organizational change; she is a consultant and speaker on these and other leadership topics.

Hudson's corporate experience includes 22 years of marketing and general management at The Gillette Company and Hallmark Cards. At Hallmark, Hudson was a senior vice president and corporate officer, and she served on the corporate executive council and Hallmark U. K. board of directors before retiring in 2001. She serves on the executive committee of the UMKC Board of Trustees and on the board of directors for the Women's Foundation and Girl Scouts of Mid-Continent Council.

Denise Kruse, Vice Chair, Membership Council

Denise KruseDenise Kruse is executive vice president with Right Management, overseeing the Heartland and Rocky Mountain Markets. Her background includes consulting, business development, and general management within a multi-billion dollar corporation. She began her career in the Kansas City area and relocated to Ft. Lauderdale joining Spherion, a global recruiting, consulting, outsourcing and technology provider.

Among her awards and recognitions, she received the annual corporate-wide Greatness Award at Spherion and was selected to the 2004 Chairman’s Club at Right. She is on the boards of RP Products and YouthFriends, and is a member of the advisory board at the Henry W. Bloch School of Business at UMKC, and a mentor for the ACCESS Mentor program for the graduate program at the University of Saint Mary.

Kristin Wing, Vice Chair Products and Services

Kristin WingFor more than 20 years, Kristin Wing has served in various marketing roles in the consulting, engineering, legal and accounting fields. Wing serves on the Kansas City leadership team and the firm’s National Women’s Initiative. She is affiliated with the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association and American Marketing Association. She serves on the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce economic advisory board; Mattie Rhodes Counseling and Arts Center Board of Directors; Delta Gamma advisory board, University of Kansas; 360 Circle of Giving committee for the Women’s Foundation of Greater Kansas City, and Solace House advisory board. Kristen has received community service awards from RSM McGladrey and Grant Thornton.

Anne Bowman, Board Director

Anne BowmanAnne Bowman is senior vice president , UMB, providing commercial banking services to businesses throughout the metropolitan area. She has been with UMB since 1992.

Anne is also a member of the board of Marillac. She has been a member of The Central Exchange since May 1996 and served as Vice Chair, Programming from 2006 – 2008.

Sherri Becker, Board Director

Sherri BeckerSherri A. Becker is president and founder of The Marketing Department and has been in marketing for more than 20 years. In addition to providing in-house marketing services, Becker provides marketing consulting and training through the Marketing Accountability Program, which she developed as well as the Get Clients NOW! Program, which she is certified to provide. Becker is also a Kauffman FastTrac facilitator and coach.

She began her career as a business development officer in an Iowa bank, and later owned and operated a gourmet food and catering business in Cedar Rapids, Iowa before opening a distributorship that retailed men’s shirts and ties in Overland Park. A graduate of the Kauffman FastTrac program, she is a past board member of the Overland Park chapter of ABWA Express Network and a past board member of the Missouri Restaurant Association.

Valerie Bonebrake, Board Director

Valerie BonebrakeValerie Bonebrake is executive vice president and chief logistics officer for Meridian IQ, the global logistics management company of YRC Worldwide. Bonebrake has more than 25 years of experience in developing high-performing transportation management teams. Prior to joining Meridian, she was with Yellow Transportation where she was senior vice president of new services. Bonebrake joined The Central Exchange in 2000. As a CX board member, she headed the Corporate Partners Council for the Women's Lyceum, where she spearheaded an effort that increased corporate sponsorships by $50,000 and attendance from that sector to more than 500 participants. Valerie served as chair of The Central Exchange Board of Directors from 2006 - 2008.

Carleane Ellsworth, Board Director

Carleane EllsworthCarleane Ellsworth has worked for the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce for six and a half years in Human Resources, where she currently serves as director. Her major responsibilities focus on Chamber employee recruitment and retention, compensation and benefit management, employee relations and the interpretation of policy and procedures.

Ellsworth has been in HR management for 10 years including positions with Argosy Casino, Cornerstone Health Services and Health Midwest.

Ellsworth received her MA in Human Resources Management from Webster University and BS from Northwest Missouri State University. She is active in the Lincoln High School/R.T. Coles Alumni Association, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Human Resources Management Association, and American Business Woman’s Association.

Tammy Breitenbach, Board Director

Tammy BreitenbachTammy Breitenbach has spent 17 years as a corporate strategist helping companies develop new revenue opportunities, define new markets, and transform their businesses to increase their competitiveness. Currently she is president and principal consultant of Catalyst Partners, Inc., a business strategy advisory company specializing in helping businesses position themselves for growth and market themselves to investors.

Previous to launching Catalyst, she was Director of National Sales Development for H&R Block Financial Advisors in Kansas City where she led positioning strategies for the company’s 1,000 financial advisors to differentiate the company within the competitive financial services industry. Prior to her six years with H&R Block, Tammy led marketing and public relations strategies for Valentine Radford advertising and Fleishman-Hillard public relations in Kansas City.

Tammy received her undergraduate degree in journalism from Kansas State University and an Executive MBA from the Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administration at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Essie Eisenfeld, Board Director

Essie EisenfeldEssie Eisenfeld currently serves as Vice President – Shared Services and Talent Management with Embarq. She is responsible for HR Shared Services such as strategy, IT, budget/finance, program management support, and the employee resource center which serves all EMBARQ employees and retirees. Additionally, she is responsible for the Office of Inclusion and Diversity, recruitment, culture/change management, executive and leadership development, performance management, and succession planning.

Prior to this assignment, Essie served as Vice President - Finance supporting a number of business units at Sprint from 2000-2005. From 1992-2000, Essie led a variety of finance functions at Sprint. Prior to working for Sprint, Essie worked at General Dynamics in San Diego for six years.

Essie holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Kim Jones, Board Director

Kim JonesKim Jones was named as a partner at Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin in 2002, where she joined as an associate in 1997. Jones specializes in labor and employment law and provides day-to-day counsel to employers on human resources issues.

She earned her law degree from the University of Kansas and her bachelor's degree from Kansas State University. Jones has been a member of The Central Exchange since 2002.

Yvonne J. Kean, Board Director

Yvonne Kean is director, Finance and Administration with WaterPartners International. She has worked in the financial services and not-for-profit industries for the 19 years since leaving public accounting. Kean served as treasurer of The Central Exchange board, and is past president and board member of the Institute of Management Accountants, and a member of the AICPA and Missouri Society of CPAs and several health care industry associations.

Jeanie Latz, Board Director

Jeanie LatzJeanie Latz serves as general counsel and corporate secretary for Midwest Research Institute. She has spent her adult life in Kansas City active in corporate and community endeavors. She has expertise in corporate governance, board and shareholder relations, corporate restructuring, organizational development, financial securities, shared services, M&A, and corporate law.

She has held leadership positions throughout the community as past chairman and chapter president of the Kansas City Chapter American Red Cross, chair- elect of the Full Employment Council, chair-elect of the Kansas City Workforce Investment Board, and with Kansas City Tomorrow, Harmony, Powell Gardens, and the Truman Library.

Sharon Lindenbaum, Board Director

Sharon LindenbaumSharon Lindenbaum serves as vice president, Finance for Time Warner Cable Kansas City. She was formerly the CFO for The Kansas City Star where she was responsible for the strategic planning and product rollout for the Star's new production facility. She spent the first 10 years of her career in public accounting and in the fall of 2002 attended Harvard University's Advanced Management Program. Sharon is an active community volunteer.

Lisa Macpherson, Board Director

Lisa MacphersonLisa Macpherson is senior vice president – retail merchandising and a corporate officer at Hallmark Cards, Inc. She is responsible for product development, product merchandising, visual presentation, and retail strategy and planning for Hallmark’s retail organization. Macpherson leads the retail merchandising group in developing products, services, packaging, and store environments for Hallmark Gold Crown® stores and oversees Hallmark Direct, a direct-to-consumer business that includes a catalogue, web store, and Hallmark Flowers.

Prior to Hallmark, Macpherson worked for The Timberland Company and Fisher-Price, a division of Mattel.

Teresa Martin, Board Director

Teresa MartinTeresa Martin is vice president and producer, Lockton Companies, Inc. There, she is co-chair, K.C. Construction Practice Group and member of the National Construction Practice Group. She has been with Lockton for 13 years, and was previously Hass and Wilkerson Insurance. Martin serves as a board member on the Kansas City chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth; Associated General Contractors of Kansas, and is on advisory boards for Emporia State University School of Business and The Entrepreneurship Institute

In 2003, she was selected to the Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business and in 2005 was named the Associated Builders and Contractors Heart of America Chapter Associate Member of the Year. She has numerous civic affiliations including a United Way Tocqueville Society Member and Rose Brooks Center 200 Cabaret chair.

Sheridan Sechter, Board Director

Sheridan SechterSheridan Sechter is the founder and publisher of Flourish! Magazine, a bi-monthly publication editorially-focused on providing information and inspiration to Kansas City’s community of business and professional women.

A past president of the Kansas City chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), she currently serves on the NAWBO board. She is also a Board Trustee of the Heartland Foundation and serves as the chair of the Foundation’s marketing committee. She was named Kansas City’s Small Business Publisher of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration in 2005. Sechter has been a member of The Central Exchange since 2004.

Marga Spangler, Board Director

Marga SpanglerAs president, Private Banking Group, First National Bank of Kansas, Marga Spangler oversees the group that provides financial services for high net worth individuals and their businesses. Her banking career spans 28 years, including positions with Country Club Bank, Gold Bank, Intrust Bank and United Missouri Bank.

Spangler serves on the boards of several organizations including the Johnson County Community College Foundation, Overland Park Economic Development Council, Shawnee Mission Education Foundation (past president) and Overland Park Foundation. She has served on the board of the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce and was chair of the Johnson County Chamber Presidents Council in 2001.

Scott Wesley, Board Director

Scott WesleyScott Wesley is a second vice president of wealth management and financial advisor for The Plaza Group at Smith Barney. He has earned the designation of financial planning specialist and currently serves as the financial planning coordinator for Smith Barney’s Kansas City branch.

Wesley is a member of the Centurions Leadership Group with the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, chair for TLC for Children’s 1st Annual Motorcycle Event, member of the American Royal governorship committee, and member of the advisory board at the Henry W. Bloch School of Business at UMKC. He received Smith Barney’s Rainmaker Award in 2004 and Smith Barney’s Blue Chip Award in 2004 and 2005.

Monica Curls, AHEAD Liaison

Monica CurlsMonica Curls is the director of the Kansas City Branch Office of the Missouri Secretary of State’s Office and has over 12 years of project and administrative management experience in the corporate, public, and political sectors in the US and abroad. Prior to joining the Secretary of State’s Office, Monica was an international consultant with BearingPoint’s Emerging Markets division. In this capacity she provided project and administrative support for international projects throughout the developing world, which included a 19 month assignment in Kabul, Afghanistan as the Operations Manager with the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Monica also serves as the Business and Labor Chair for Kansas City’s Human Rights Commission, and is on the boards of the Greater Kansas City Women’s Political Caucus and the University of Missouri Extension Council for Jackson County.
